This online CPD course covers Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) and has been designed to meet the requirements of the First Aid Awarding Organisation Forum’s Assessment Principles for First Aid.
Under the Assessment Principles, anyone carrying out internal quality assurance of regulated First Aid qualifications must be able to demonstrate both:
Occupational knowledge and competence in First Aid – normally evidenced by holding an appropriate, current First Aid at Work qualification or relevant medical registration; and
Knowledge and competency in Internal Quality Assurance – evidenced by holding an acceptable IQA qualification or completing appropriate IQA CPD training.
This online course is designed to meet the second of these requirements by providing the required CPD training in Internal Quality Assurance.
The course covers the knowledge and understanding required of an Internal Quality Assurer, including the role of assessors, the requirements of the qualifications being quality assured, observing assessments and carrying out other related internal quality assurance activities.
The course is completed entirely online, allowing you to work through the content at your own pace and at a time that suits you.
Please note that attending this IQA CPD training will not count towards your own first aid annual monitoring requirement or renew your First Aid at Work Instructor status.
Assessing
The Assessment Principles require Trainers assessing learners on regulated First Aid qualifications to hold an appropriate assessing qualification or to have completed suitable assessing CPD training.
This course is ideal for Trainers who need to develop or refresh their understanding of assessment and provides practical guidance on carrying out fair, consistent and effective assessments.
Internal Quality Assurance
The course is also suitable for those involved in monitoring First Aid Trainer/Assessors and carrying out internal quality assurance of regulated First Aid qualifications.
The Assessment Principles require those involved in quality assurance to hold an IQA qualification or to have completed suitable CPD training, in addition to holding an appropriate First Aid qualification.
This course provides the CPD training required to help individuals understand and carry out internal quality assurance procedures for regulated First Aid qualifications.
